Private half-day tour of Bethlehem and Beit Sahour with a licensed guide: the Church of the Nativity, Shepherds' Field and the Milk Grotto.
Description
The Bethlehem Half Day Private Tour is a guided private trip from your hotel to Bethlehem and Beit Sahour, visiting the Church of the Nativity, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, along with the main Christian landmarks of the Old City. You travel with a licensed guide registered by the Ministry of Tourism, at a comfortable pace built around your own private group.
- Shepherds Field in Beit Sahour
- Milk Grotto Church
- Church of the Nativity
- Saint Catherine Church
- Handicrafts Olive Wood Factory
- Cooperative Souvenir Store
The day begins around 9:30 with pickup from your hotel or apartment, then continues to the Shepherds Field in the small town of Beit Sahour next to Bethlehem. There you see a church built to mark the place where, according to the Gospel, an angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds. The tour moves on to the Old City of Bethlehem, home to two of the most important churches in the Holy Land. Your guided visit to the Church of the Nativity explains the rich history of one of the oldest churches in the world and the cave beneath it, with a star marking the site traditionally honored as the birthplace of Jesus. The adjoining Saint Catherine Church is part of the same complex.
You also visit the Milk Grotto Church, the place where tradition says Mary and Saint Joseph rested before the flight to Egypt. The tour includes a short coffee break at a local olive wood factory, where you can meet artisans and see their long-standing craft, followed by a cooperative souvenir store. This is a private tour, so the itinerary is a proposal and can be customized to your wishes. Please note that the Grotto of the Nativity is undergoing major restoration through 2026, so access to the Grotto itself may be limited or closed, while the Church of the Nativity and the rest of the tour remain fully open.
